BUTTERFLIES IN THE SNOW

BUTTERFLIES IN THE SNOW

Can you see that? I asked my friend,
There are butterflies in the snow!
Gentle in their way they float,
Neither come nor will they go!

She replied: Don’t be a fool,
They cannot live in snow!
Long ago they left this place,
To where I think you know.

But “No” I replied to her,
I can see them in the night!
They warm the chill and leave
My soul with happiness and light!

The one I see is so beautiful
As she alights upon a bough,
She rest her wings and settles,
A butterfly in the snow.

Her soul is sweet, her color true
Her heart is all aglow.
Special I call her, she is
A butterfly in the snow.
